Staying Healthy This Summer

It is the time of year where we get to enjoy the warm weather, good food at barbeques and time with friends and family. With the kids being off for summer vacation, and slight modifications to our schedules, don’t allow the importance of staying healthy take the back seat. At the Roots Health Centers, we believe that neurologically based chiropractic care is an essential part of being healthy and feeling your best. More and more families are choosing neurologically based chiropractic care because healing takes place from the inside out, and that begins with a healthy nervous system.

Our bodies function off the well being of our nervous system, and our nervous system is impacted by our daily activities – which in the summer may include long road trips, camping, hiking, biking, fishing, jumping in the pool, etc. Since having a properly functioning nervous system is so important, we locate where you have nerve interference,  which is caused by vertebral subluxations. By identifying the specific areas of nerve interferences (subluxations) and getting those areas gently and specifically adjusted, your body will be able to restore proper nerve communication and heal from the inside out.

At The Roots Chiropractic, Drs. Laura and Logan Swaim use the most advanced and researched base technique in chiropractic today- known as the Torque Release. Through specific analysis, our Drs. can identify where and if there is any nerve interference down to one vertebral level. They provide very gentle & specific chiropractic adjustments to realign the spine and remove the nerve interference.

During the summer, kids may be busy swimming in pools, playing dodgeball, jumping rope, playing baseball etc. This increase in activities can also lead to a potential increase in bumps, bruises and misalignments. It is very important for our children to be neurologically assessed to ensure their bodies are functioning at 100%. During the summer months, its also important to assess the parents of these busy children to see how mom & dads nervous systems are functioning in response to a busier schedule and increase in activities. Even if summer is the time that your schedule and activities settle down, it is still time to reevaluate as any change in daily activity, whether that be increase or decrease will affect your system.

For all ages and walks of life, summer is a time full of outdoor activities, sports, vacations and beautiful weather. During these months, its important to maintain your regular chiropractic care visits to make sure your nervous system is functioning at its best As you and your family enjoy the warm weather, take the time to take care of your bodies as well.
